What Is a PAC?
PACs are organized to allow associations, individuals, labor unions,
and corporations who share common political goals a way to affect the
national political process. Associations with PACs such as NARA-PAC may
also contribute to candidates running for national office who have
demonstrated their support for particular issues, such as the
rehabilitation agency industry and its patients, without regard to
political party affiliation.
NARA-PAC is set up as a separate fund established by
NARA. All contributions are voluntary. Contributions are not limited to
the suggested amounts. You are free to give more or less than the
suggested amounts, and you will not be disadvantaged by your decision.
Individuals should contribute by personal check. Please note: Federal
law requires political action committees to report the name, mailing
address, occupation, and name of employer for each individual whose
contributions exceed $200 in one calendar year. Contributions are not
tax deductible.
Why a PAC for NARA?
The National Association of Rehabilitation Providers and Agencies
Political Action Committee (NARA-PAC) is a voluntary and nonprofit
committee consisting of members of NARA and other interested
individuals who are concerned about the rehabilitation agency industry
and its patients. The PAC is consistent with NARA's motto, "Committed
to the Success of PT, OT and SLP Businesses."
The purposes of NARA-PAC are to:
GIVE donations to candidates for national office and elected officials
who have demonstrated an interest in and support of the rehabilitation
industry and its patients. Donations are given without regard to
political party affiliation.
INCREASE and IMPROVE awareness among Members of Congress about national
government issues that affect the rehabilitation industry and its
patients.
ESTABLISH an active and effective mechanism for the NARA membership in
affecting the federal government policies on NARA issues.
RAISE voluntary contributions from NARA members and use these funds to positively affect the political process.
