Description:

An estimated 10% of COVID-19 patients become “long haulers” or have symptoms that last weeks or months. With no consistent reason and no limits to who long COVID affects, rehabilitating this novel population requires robust knowledge and innovation. This webinar will introduce the pathophysiology of the coronavirus and will summarize the current literature on COVID-19 as it relates to the field of speech-language pathology. The speakers will highlight unique considerations for clinical swallow and cognitive linguistic evaluations, instrumental assessments, and dysphagia and cognitive rehabilitation across the continuum of care for COVID long haulers. Case studies will be presented in an interactive format, and the session will conclude with Q & A.
