The Passing of a NARA Friend Steve Levine, PT, DPT, MSHA, FAPTA

Home Blog The Passing of a NARA Friend Steve Levine, PT, DPT, MSHA, FAPTA

The entire NARA community was stunned and deeply saddened Wednesday when we learned that Steve Levine, PT, DPT, MSHA, FAPTA had passed away.  Words cannot adequately express our profound sense of loss right now. Stephen Hunter, PT, DPT, OCS (NARA Vice President) and I were at a meeting with Steve at APTA headquarters on Monday. With passion, Steve spoke about where physical rehabilitation needed to go under the Affordable Care Act. Steve strongly believed that rehab professionals needed to be proactive and shape the future of physical rehabilitation. Steve was a strong champion for physical rehabilitation and its proper place in the healthcare continuum. He was a very active member of the APTA for 25 years. In recent years, Steve became involved with NARA. Steve spoke at NARA’s 2013 Fall Conference. Below is a link to statement on Steve from APTA President Paul A. Rockar Jr, PT, DPT, MS. http://www.apta.org/Media/Releases/Association/2015/3/4/ I don't know how Steve’s role will be replaced any time soon. I miss him already as does our industry. His death is also another reminder that our lives are fleeting and like a vapor. Kennedy I. Hawkins, MBA JD, LLM NARA President
